Leadership Expert Dr Kirstin Ferguson believes Australians want to see more leaders showing “courage” moving forward after the results of the 2022 election.

Anthony Albanese defeated Scott Morrison on Saturday night to become Australia’s 31st prime minister.

Dr Ferguson told Deborah Knight the new prime minister represents a “move away from traditional leaders being privileged”.

“He shows this need that you don’t need to be the smartest person in the room to be a good leader,” she said.

“We want to see leaders who believe in something, regardless of the political risk … they’ll still follow through.”
